What is a Draw Collar?

John Stock LaMunyon III has been in the hearth industry for over 15 years, selling and installing both gas and wood-burning units. Throughout these years, there has been one common complaint about the wood burning stoves - smoke filling the rooms when the customer would try to light a fire. He even had his own experiences with this problem at his family cabin in the high Uintah mountains of Utah. He knew all of the standard solutions from stuffing & lighting paper in the flue to using a propane torch to heat up the inside of the flue.

On one particular trip up to the cabin, he had the idea of using some sort of heating element that could attach to the flue pipe. After months of research and several prototypes, The Draw Collar was a reality. With patent pending status, he was ready to create a company to bring this innovative solution to the public.

He invited his father, John Stock LaMunyon, Jr to join him as a partner, and Stock Squared,LLC was born.

Both men are excited about the reception The Draw Collar received at the HPB Expo in March 2009, and were thrilled when it won the Vesta Award in the venting and ducting category.

A simple solution to an age-old problem. That's what they're all about.
